Geocore Site Investigations part of the RSK Group have an opportunity for a full-time, permanent, experienced Mechanical plant fitter/vehicle fitter to join our team in Redcar, UK.
Geocore is a ground source drilling and site investigation specialist.
Since ****, we have refined our service offering and now specialise in ground source drilling, site investigation, including domestic ground investigation, foundation inspections, drainage CCTV and drainage repairs.
The Role: We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with a proven track record and passion for diagnosing and repairing a variety of plant and equipment including drilling rigs, water pumps, trailers, compressors and telehandlers.
Experience in vehicle maintenance would be advantageous.
The work will be primarily workshop based but you will be required on site for breakdown cover and maintenance when required.
Key Responsibilities: Undertake repairs, maintenance and servicing to all plant and drilling equipment.
Undertake onsite breakdown and repairs to operational plant and equipment.
Maintain administrative records of all repairs, servicing and inspections.
Undertake, supervise or schedule vehicle maintenance, servicing and repairs.
Maintain spares/stock levels and procure parts and equipment via correct purchasing methods and liaison with office administrators.
Supervision of workshop apprentice and delegate tasks.
Comply with company Health and Safety policy.
Qualifications Experience: NVQ Level 3 in Plant or Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) Proven experience in Plant and Vehicle Repair/Maintenance Knowledge of plant hydraulic and electrical systems Knowledge of plant diesel engines.
Experience in basic welding and fabrication.
Detailed practical, mechanical working knowledge of plant machinery and tools.
Experience in working with drilling rigs of similar (advantageous) Full UK drivers licence (Compulsory) CSCS Card / other site related competencies Understanding of Health and Safety legislation- able to work safely for the benefit of themselves and others.
Passionate and practical approach to plant repairs and ability to problem solve and understand/assimilate new information.
