Here at RSK Biocensus, part of RSK Group, we are recruiting a tenacious and passionate Senior Ecologist to join our growing UK ecology team.
The Role:
You can expect to get involved with the delivery of elements of field surveys, assessment, tender and report writing and project management, on various nationwide and local projects. You can also expect to oversee aspects of site work and undertake practical elements of habitat management or creation, under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and overseeing medium/large projects and tenders from commencement to completion and close-out.
- Displaying a commitment to the work that is produced, promoting RSK in a positive light to clients and competitors.
- Managing medium-sized projects, including finance, resource allocation, managing sub-contractors, risk and quality assurance, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication, and seeking and responding to client feedback.
- Completing fieldwork, including out-of-hours surveys, travelling as required and working away from home.
- Assisting with the delivery of survey and research reports, to include document reviews, statistical analyses, licence applications, reporting, etc.
A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle is required for this role.
Person Specification:
You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of workload under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise reports, are essential for communicating findings and recommendations would be ideal for this role. You will also have excellent leadership skills as well as being able to work as part of a team and on an individual basis on certain projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or relevant qualification in Ecology or related subject.
- 5 Years specific relevant experience within a similar role.
- Species specific personal licences are desirable.
- Associate membership with CIEEM.
- Abide by CIEEM’s Code of Professional Conduct.
