We are seeking a Chartered Civil Engineer who is passionate about technical excellence, mentoring, and knowledge sharing. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys managing engineering teams and being the go-to technical authority, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) across civil engineering disciplines while supporting and developing our in‑house talent within a collaborative design environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality, sustainable water and wastewater solutions while strengthening technical capability across our business.

Responsibilities
- Act as the civil engineering subject matter expert across multiple projects
- Lead and review complex civil engineering designs, calculations, reports, and specifications
- Provide technical assurance, guidance, and problem‑solving support to project teams
- Be the first point of contact for civil engineering technical queries
- Support the development and application of standards, tools, and best practice
- Mentor, coach, and train graduate and junior engineers, fostering technical confidence and capability
- Contribute to design reviews, risk management, and value engineering
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients
- Support cost, programme, and quality objectives through sound technical decision‑making

Qualifications
Essential
- Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) status
- Proven experience delivering detailed design within the water or wastewater sector
- Strong technical judgement and ability to provide clear, pragmatic guidance
- Passion for mentoring, training, and developing our in‑house talent
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage clients and stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience undertaking an engineering manager role on multi‑disciplinary engineering projects
- Experience with UK water industry clients
- Familiarity with industry design standards and assurance processes
- Coordination of overseas resources
- Experience contributing to technical communities, guidance, or innovation initiatives
