RSK Group is looking for an IT Service Desk Assistant to join the Group IT Department on a full‑time basis. The position is based in the Helsby office and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, five days a week.
Responsibilities
- Provide first‑line IT Service Desk support to internal users, addressing incidents and requests by phone, email, service desk, remote tools, and in person.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Install and update software applications.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and tablets.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their IT requirements and relay relevant information to the wider IT team.
- Provide support for IT projects and system upgrades as needed.
- Support IT admin tasks, including procurement and general administration.
- Adhere to and promote the organisation's IT policies.
- Maintain the security of the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Good communication and outstanding customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Dynamic, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
- Good knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 and Microsoft 365 support.
- Ability to provide telephone support to remote users of all levels.
- Well‑developed all‑round IT and people skills.
- Ability to install, support, and maintain hardware and software.
- Good knowledge of PC and laptop hardware.
- Some knowledge of Android and iOS on phones and tablets.
- Keenness to learn and develop within the role.
- Some previous IT support role experience preferable.
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence.
- ITIL certification.
