How is the scheme structured?
During the 18‑month programme you will begin with a comprehensive induction to learn about RSK culture and the businesses within the group. Following induction you will work with two RSK businesses, spending nine months in each to gain a broad, holistic understanding of the industry. You will work alongside industry professionals, gaining technical training, structured group training, and soft‑skills development. A buddy will support you and there will be networking opportunities.
The programme is split across environmental consultancy and environmental solutions service areas. You will be placed with two RSK businesses that match your degree, skills and relevant experience. Placement opportunities may be office, field‑based or a mixture depending on project objectives.
Daily activities may include:
- Conducting surveys for protected species e.g. Great crested newts, bats and reptiles
- Desk‑based biodiversity and sustainability materiality assessments
- Analysis and interpretation of tender and project data
- Field sampling studies for monitoring pesticides
- Sustainability audits
- Environmental impact assessments
- Using mapping software to support client projects
- Site assessments and planning reviews
- Water sampling and monitoring
- Liaising with clients, contractors, community, 3rd parties and landowners
- Working on small, medium, and large sized consultancy projects, with responsibility for tasks such as depth interviewing, managing surveys, data analysis and reporting
- Developing client relationships and achieving positive client testimonials for the delivery of high‑quality work

Locations typically include Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, Boxworth, Hereford, Chester, Glasgow and London.

Your Career Development Path
During placements you will attend training away days, build transferable skills such as communication, commercial awareness, and participate in career development workshops. You will receive technical on‑the‑job training, guidance from a line manager, mentor and support from the early careers team. Throughout the programme you will contribute to business support and deliver high‑impact results. Performance will be assessed with regular feedback. By programme end you should have a clear idea of your preferred role within RSK Group.

Salary and Benefits
