CR Civil Engineering, part of the RSK Group, are a family-run business based in the Midlands, operating throughout England and Wales. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Engineer to join our team based in Ripley, UK.
The Role: The jobholder is responsible for ensuring plant and equipment maintenance is carried out to meet with the manufacturers' recommended guidelines to achieve maximum efficiency and utilisation of owned operational equipment. This role will be a mixed role of site and yard work and will involve travelling most days with occasional overnight stays.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure compliance with all H&S laws and regulations are met.
- To ensure all work carried out at the Ripley yard workshops and sites is done so in a safe manner as not to cause harm to themselves or others.
- The jobholder is responsible for maintaining all plant and equipment that is owned by the company to a high level and in line with manufacturer guidance.
- Carry out repairs in the workshop and on site in a safe manner and obeying all site rules.
- Carry out PUWER inspections in accordance with regulations.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance of all company-owned plant and equipment.
- Work as part of a team of plant engineers and apprentices.
- Maintain adequate levels of stock for the maintenance and repair of equipment in the van.
- Carry out inspections, PDI checks, PUWER inspection to all plant and equipment.
- Make recommendations to the plant manager/supervisor on the replacement and renewal of plant and equipment.
- Analyse trends to ensure best return on investment and to minimise wastage and inefficiencies.
- Report to the plant manager/supervisor where improvements can be made on costs and other matters with recommendations.
- Ensure all necessary reports are produced accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support site management teams with reactive repairs to plant and equipment on site.
- Work safely as not to cause harm to themselves or others.
Key Requirements/Qualifications:
- Full knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repair of construction plant and equipment.
- Qualified at least to NVQ 2 standard.
- Health and safety awareness.
- Systems management.
