Location: Hemel Hempstead. The Materials & Structures business invites you to join a high‑quality team of geological, chemical, materials science and engineering experts to assess and advise on a wide range of materials‑related issues.
Responsibilities
- Taking full ownership of projects from initial client enquiry through to final delivery.
- Conducting on‑site and laboratory testing to British and other standards and in‑house test methods.
- Collating and analysing test data and preparing interpretative reports.
- Mentoring and developing less‑experienced colleagues.
- Attending meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
- Acting as a senior point of contact for key clients, building strong, long‑term relationships and ensuring their needs are met through bespoke consultancy services.
- Providing expert‑level advice and solutions, particularly in cases requiring complex interpretation or innovative approaches.
- Leading the preparation of detailed, high‑quality technical reports and presentations, ensuring they meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- Post‑graduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in materials science, metallurgy or a similar subject.
- Proven track record of initiative, quality written work and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Hands‑on attitude to both site and laboratory work with previous laboratory and/or site work experience required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Dynamic work ethic and ability to work professionally, independently and as part of a team.
- Mentorship or line‑management experience.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Salary and Benefits
- £40,000 upwards, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
