1stInrail, part of the RSK Group, have an exciting opportunity for a Signalling Team Leader to join their team. UK-based, with works primarily delivered across the Midlands, Yorkshire, and North East regions, and southwards within the Peterborough to King’s Cross corridor. The role is aligned to our Doncaster office, with infrequent attendance required. Applicants should bear this in mind when applying for the role and consider their home location in relation to the Doncaster operating area.
The Role: We are looking to recruit an experienced Signalling Team Leader to support and deliver a growing portfolio of signalling works across both depot maintenance and project-based schemes, including works delivered directly for Network Rail. Reporting to our Signalling Project Lead, you will lead site teams, provide technical guidance, and play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality signalling works. This is a hands-on leadership role with clear responsibility and strong support from an established signalling management structure.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading signalling teams on renewals, installations, maintenance, and response works
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to programme
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to signalling technicians
- Ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards, Group Standards, and company procedures
- Supporting audits, inspections, and technical investigations
- Working closely with project and management teams to plan and deliver works effectively
- Promoting a strong safety culture and leading by example on site
What We’re Looking For:
- An applicable IRSE Licence, or actively working towards completion of a CAC
- Proven signalling experience in renewals, installations, maintenance, or response works
- SMTH competence (essential)
- COSS or IWA competence (desirable)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A calm, practical approach with the ability to lead teams on site
- Good basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
