The PA Group are a highly respectable and growing asbestos company, forming part of the RSK Group, that provides various professional and high-quality services to a mixed portfolio of clients. We are now looking for a tenacious and focused full-time, permanent Asbestos Lab Analyst and Quality Checker to join our busy laboratory based in Dartford, UK.
The PA Group UK are a multidisciplinary, health and safety executive licensed asbestos removal and UKAS-accredited asbestos inspection and testing contractor.
Main responsibilities/duties:- Receiving and appropriately logging samples received by the laboratory.
- Preparing samples for analysis.
- Carrying out analysis of samples for fibre content.
- Reporting analytical findings.
- Ensuring appropriate storage and retention of samples.
- Generating certificates of analysis and issuing to clients.
- Getting involved with other general laboratory and administrative duties.
- Quality checking asbestos survey reports.
In general, the applicant will be flexible, have a good work ethic and have the ability to carry out the work effectively and within required turnaround times.
Person Specification:- The applicant must have attained the P401 qualification and have significant experience working within this role in a laboratory/office environment and within the asbestos field.
- Awareness of the requirements of the second edition of HSG248 is desirable.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have good organisational and IT skills.
- Must have a full UK driving licence and vehicle due to location, or alternative means of transport.
- Experience in quality checking of asbestos survey reports is desirable but full training can also be provided.
