We’re now looking for an experienced Flood, Coast & Maritime (FCM) Team Leader to play a key role in the continued growth of our Chester team.

Why Binnies?

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management with technical and project delivery responsibility.

You’ll lead and develop our 25–30 strong FCM team in Chester, working closely with other discipline and team leaders across Binnies. Alongside team leadership, you’ll remain actively involved in fee‑earning project delivery across FCERM and environmental programmes.

Our clients include Natural Resources Wales, the Environment Agency and local authorities, and your experience will help shape resilient infrastructure and nature‑based solutions across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading, mentoring and developing the Chester FCM team

  • Managing resources across a varied portfolio of projects
  • Acting as Project Manager, Project Director or Technical Lead on significant schemes
  • Building and strengthening long‑term client relationships
  • Supporting business development and framework delivery
  • Leading and contributing to bids – from methodology through to resourcing and pricing

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an established professional with a background in FCERM, flood risk, coastal or environmental programmes, and a passion for developing people.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. CEng, CEnv, C.WEM, ChPP)
  • Experience delivering consultancy projects or programmes (ÂŁ100k–£2m)
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, supportive approach
  • Confidence working in a fee‑earning consultancy environment
  • Excellent stakeholder, client and communication skills
  • A proactive, organised and solutions‑focused mindset
  • Ambition to grow your own career while supporting others to develop theirs
