Binnies' Water Services team is growing, and we're looking for experienced Project Managers of all levels to help deliver some of the UK's most important water infrastructure programmes. This is your chance to play a defining role in shaping the next generation of water assets – from small infrastructure improvements to large‑scale and nationally significant water resource schemes.
We have a growing portfolio of projects with clients in the Midlands and North of England, including Anglian Water, Severn Trent Water and Yorkshire Water. Our teams deliver multidisciplinary engineering, environmental and programme‑wide solutions across the UK water sector, including civil, process and MEICA engineering, environmental assessment, modelling and nature‑based solutions.

Opportunity
As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of engineering and consultancy projects from concept through to completion – managing scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and client outcomes. Projects typically range from feasibility and optioneering studies through outline design phases, supporting clients in developing and delivering capital investment programmes.
Typical tasks for our project managers include:
- Lead project delivery across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and stakeholder management
- Manage NEC PSC contracts
- Build strong, trusted client relationships through regular communication, clear reporting, and collaborative problem‑solving
- Identify, manage and mitigate technical, commercial and programme risks
- Lead proposals, cost estimates and commercial reviews for new opportunities
- Develop effective resource plans and delivery strategies
- Ensure compliance with quality systems while driving continuous improvement
- Coach, mentor and support the development of colleagues across project teams
Candidate Profile
We're looking for a confident, proactive project leader with strong consultancy experience and a collaborative mindset. You will bring:
- Experience delivering engineering or consultancy projects (any scale)
- A professional qualification in Project Management and/or an engineering discipline
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating technical inputs
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness within a consultancy environment
- Proficiency with programme management tools such as MS Project
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat and follow‑on work
- Experience within the UK water sector is highly desirable
- Applicants from other regulated infrastructure sectors (energy, highways, rail or utilities) with strong consultancy project delivery experience will also be considered
