Binnies are recruiting experienced EIA professionals to support work primarily in the Wales, Midlands and North West due to our recent success on various frameworks in these regions.
Our work in these regions is focussed on the water sector e. g. flood, coast, reservoirs, nature based solutions and water utility projects but we also work in a range of other sectors such as ports, transport and renewable power.
Our scale of projects range from nationally significant infrastructure projects to local river restoration.
There will be opportunity to work on our projects across the country as well as in these regions.
The role can be full time or hybrid in one of our offices in Chester, Swansea, or Birmingham. Or we can offer remote working.
The role will be primarily technical but also opportunities for team and line management/mentoring if that is your interest.

About the Role
The role will include
- Co-ordinating all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA and the range of other environmental assessments and consents such as WFD, HRA, and planning.
- Provide the checker, reviewer and/or approver role for environmental deliverables; driving technical quality.
- Providing line management and mentoring to members of the Environmental Team.
- Liaison with clients and other stakeholders.
- Supporting tenders.
- Supporting recruitment.
Qualifications/Requirements
The role is suitable for an Environmental professional with full professional membership (such as IEMA, IES or CIWEM).
In addition, should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- An environmental related degree
- Chartered with a relevant institute (or close to obtaining)
- A thorough understanding of EIA, sustainability and consenting (planning, HRA, WFD etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent people skills and ideally previous management/supervisory experience
- Understanding of commercial drivers of consultancy and ability to manage and work to programme and budget
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Previous consultancy experience.
Experience of construction stage delivery would be an advantage but not essential.
Previous project/commercial management is not required for this role as we have dedicated Project Managers to allow a technical focus on projects.
We would welcome applicants of Senior Level and above and we can flex salary based on grade and experience. Start date is flexible.
