Binnies is recruiting experienced EIA professionals to support work primarily in the south and east of England. Our portfolio includes flood, coastal, and maritime projects, as well as sectors like ports, water utilities, transport, and renewable power. Projects range from nationally significant infrastructure to local river restoration. The role can be full-time or hybrid, based in our offices in Bristol/Bradford on Avon, Redhill, Birmingham, or remotely. This position is mainly technical, with opportunities for team and line management or mentoring if interested. About the Role
The responsibilities include:
- Coordinating all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), including SEA, WFD, HRA, and planning consents.
- Reviewing and approving environmental deliverables to ensure technical quality.
- Providing line management and mentoring to the Environmental Team.
- Supporting tenders and recruitment efforts.
Qualifications/Requirements
Applicants should be environmental professionals with full membership (IEMA, IES, CIWEM) and possess:
- An environmental-related degree
- Chartered status with a relevant institute
- Thorough understanding of EIA, sustainability, and consenting processes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- People skills and management/supervisory experience (preferred)
- Understanding of consultancy commercial drivers and ability to manage projects within time and budget
- A full UK driving license
- Previous consultancy experience
Experience in construction stage delivery is advantageous but not essential. Project or commercial management experience is not required, as dedicated project managers handle those areas. We welcome applicants at Principal level and above; salary is flexible based on experience. Start date is negotiable.
