Are you looking to take the next step in your career and ready for an exciting new challenge?
Do you want to be a part of a team supporting innovative and strategic solutions across ecological restoration and nature recovery? Well then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
About RSK Wilding
Established in early 2020, RSK Wilding is a multidisciplinary team supporting innovative and strategic solutions across ecological restoration and nature recovery. We bring together an unrivaled breadth of expertise in biodiversity, restoration, sustainable land management and environmental law.
We are part of the RSK Biocensus business and work within the RSK Group to help clients – from large‑scale developers and public authorities to passionate landowners – offset carbon emissions and achieve biodiversity net gain through ecological restoration and rewilding across the UK. Our aim is to make a real difference in the nature and climate crisis and to leave a better legacy for future generations.
The Role
As Senior Consultant at RSK Wilding, you will advise on and assist with ecological due diligence, reviewing statutory metrics, gain site plans, habitat management and monitoring plans, and assessing reports, management plans and monitoring data for quality, outcomes, risks and compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to overall team and service quality assurance and standards.
- Perform field survey skills with a focus on UKHab and condition assessments.
- Liaise with team members, wider RSK Biocensus and clients or 3rd parties (e.g. local planning authorities, habitat banks, landowners, consultants).
- Manage ecological projects, including the timely delivery of reports and survey outputs.
- Client liaison.
- Maintain project programmes and manage project budgets.
- Contribute to bids and tenders for new work.
Key Experience & Qualifications
Ideally you will hold at least a degree in a relevant discipline and have at least five years of specific relevant experience since graduating. Experience in biodiversity net gain, habitat restoration and nature‑based solutions is essential; experience in agriculture, forestry or environmental landscaping is an advantage. A sound multi‑disciplinary background with experience of landscape‑scale conservation, rewilding and species reintroduction and recovery, as well as UK nature conservation delivery and management, is highly desirable. High level of botanical knowledge and surveying experience, including UKHab across a range of habitats, is strongly welcomed. A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle is required.
Personal Attributes
- The ability to communicate appropriate ecological information to ecologists and non‑ecologists clearly, concisely and constructively.
- Promotes a culture of honesty and equity and leads by example on site.
- Problem‑solving, self‑motivated and able to show initiative.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willing to adapt and learn.
- Focus on presenting solutions, not issues.
- Willing to contribute to the team and “get stuck in”.

- Company life assurance.
- Flexible benefits programme – option to buy additional holidays and private health care.
- Regular training and career development (CPD).
