Are you highly organised with strong attention to detail? Do you have strong administrative skills and can manage your time efficiently? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. RSK Biocensus, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting for a Resource Coordinator to join our ever growing ecology team. This will be a Fixed Term position until the end of October 2026. The successful candidate will be hybrid based. Reporting to the Resource Manager, the Resource Coordinator will provide planning and resourcing support to the wider RSK Biocensus community during our busy season (this is usually from March until the end of October).

This will involve finding the best match of people to projects, drawing from both our in‑house ecology team and our sub‑contractor (Subbie) network. You will also act as a central point of contact for all RSK Biocensus employees who have projects that require resources or need information regarding the same. These requests will typically be via email, or phone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actioning planner updates to keep both the ecology planner and the support services planner up to date, providing an accurate reflection of everyone’s workloads.
  • Supporting the ecology and project teams to determine their resource needs and identify the individuals who would be available to fulfil them.
  • Liaising with in‑house ecologists (via phone, email, TEAMS) to discuss their potential participation in project work and ensure they are aware of what is being planned, subsequently confirming with them once decisions have been made.

  • Working cooperatively with our Subbie team (responsible for the care of our vast subcontractor network) keeping them updated with any changes to subbie resourcing and working in parallel with them to resource our projects.
  • Working closely with other strands of the Central Services Team to provide integrated solutions for ecology projects e.g. making resource planning decisions that consider all aspects of the project being resourced plus the implications for other current and future projects and bids.
  • Contributing to planning meetings (for example regular resourcing meetings, weekly ecology team meetings) by providing information about the availability of people and resources and recording the outcome of these discussions.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records on the resource planning system and any other business systems as required.
  • Providing timely feedback and information to the Resource Planning Manager about the completion of work, work in progress and any potential issues regarding resources, to enable this to be relayed to / addressed by the wider business team.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the resource planning process.

Person Specification

  • You will have the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload to meet deadlines, whether working independently or collaboratively on a larger task.
  • You will also communicate appropriately and work with a variety of people at all levels of the business, inside and outside of the immediate team.
  • A high standard of IT skills – including the Microsoft Office suite (essential) a flexible attitude and willingness to work in other areas of the team when support is needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly and approachable, with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to use their own initiative and problem solve.
  • Excellent organisational skills and precise attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in a similar role, or able to demonstrate a good understanding of what the role requires.
  • An ecology background would be useful but not essential.
