This is a fantastic opportunity for an investment professional with sound experience in Venture Capital, who has strong knowledge of full-cycle deal management, from idea generation, start-up research, and capital raising to execution. You will have an opportunity to join a growing VC portfolio of a well-established wealth management office, which is passionate about taking their portfolio further and supporting positive investment deals. The Principal will be responsible for key aspects of the future fund’s operation, ranging from day-to-day operations of the fund, attracting and managing LPs, deal sourcing, investment evaluation, and portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Spearheaded efforts to raise capital for our new fund. This includes strategising and executing fundraising plans, managing and expanding relationships with Limited Partners (LPs), and effectively communicating our fund’s vision and strategy.
- Leading and managing the entire investment process, including identifying and evaluating opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence, deal structuring & execution and ultimately successful exits for an above-average net return of the fund.
- Monitor and analyse the financial and operational performance of existing portfolio companies, helping founders grow their businesses and flourish.
- Collaborating closely with portfolio company leadership teams, often in a board observer capacity, to implement growth strategies and operational enhancements.
- Build and maintain a robust network of entrepreneurs, co-investors, and industry leaders to source high-potential investment opportunities and collaborations.
- Building and maintaining a robust network within the venture capital ecosystem, including relationships with founders, venture firms, and startup accelerators.
- Developing and sharing expert insights on sector trends, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership and brand positioning.
Key Skills
- MBA, CFA and/or relevant advanced degree from an established institution
- At least 10 years of significant experience in a top-tier venture capital firm, focusing on full-cycle deal management
- Extensive network in the venture capital community
- Must have a clear track record of successful exits
- Proven track record of managing significant AUM and raising external funds
- Demonstrated analytical prowess, with a keen ability to identify critical issues, analyse data, consider alternatives, and propose practical, impactful solutions
- The ideal candidate will have experience in Proptech, Fintech and Climate Tech
- Strong network within the Family Office network
- Entrepreneurial, dynamic and go-getter attitude
