This is an amazing opportunity for a Russian-speaking Solicitor/Lawyer with sound practical experience within international organisations to join a well-established international investment firm based in the heart of London as an In-house Solicitor. The role requires working in tandem with the Chief Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities
- This is a full-time office-based role, 8.30-5.30 based in Central London.
- The Solicitor/Lawyer will provide support to the legal, investment and finance teams.
- Draft basic corporate documents/contracts (corporate resolutions, SPAs, NDAs, service agreements, loans, pledges, novation/assignments, etc.).
- Perform legal research and due diligence of various international companies and potential investment partners, as required.
- Report results of various research outcomes, liaising with legal team members to decide on the following outcomes.
- Knowledge of companies’ corporate organisation, ownership structures and governance, main constitutional documents and registration requirements (ideally in several EU jurisdictions like Lux, Cyprus, Austria, France, etc. and offshore - e.g. CI, BVI, UAE).
- Deal with various banking, compliance and KYC requests.
- File and process various KYC due diligence and banking forms.
- Open and maintain bank accounts.
- Update information in various public registers across various jurisdictions.
- Other general legal duties.
Experience
- Experience with bank account opening, KYC due diligence.
- Work with invoices, keeping track of payments and comparing the invoice to the agreed price in the engagement letter.
Key Skills
- Previous experience working as a solicitor/lawyer in the UK or abroad.
- Legal education, not necessarily UK-qualified, but with sound UK or international legal experience in international companies where English is the main legal language.
- Advanced level of working with Excel and Word (i.e., can do automatic cross-references, table of contents, automatic numbering of paragraphs).
- Sound practical experience rather than just educational.
- Fluent English and Russian language skills.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with a good eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
