Investment Portfolio Manager. Public Equities. Cyprus/London

We are looking for an experienced Russian-speaking Portfolio Manager/Investment Manager to join an international family office and take responsibility for managing part of its public equity portfolio.

This is a hands-on investment role with direct access to the Principals and CFO. You will be involved not only in day-to-day portfolio management, but also in investment strategy and recommendations to the Investment Committee.

The family office currently operates from Paphos, Cyprus, with a London office planned to be opened in 6-12 months' time. The position will ultimately relocate to London, with an initial temporary relocation to Cyprus or travelling to Cyprus before the London office opens.

Responsibilities

• Manage a public equity portfolio within the family's Strategic Asset Allocation.
• Make investment decisions and execute trades across equities, funds, mandates and thematic investments.
• Manage portfolio allocation, diversification and regular rebalancing.
• Execute options strategies through bank trading platforms.
• Select and monitor external investment managers.
• Analyse companies, financial statements, business models and market opportunities.
• Build and use financial models to support investment decisions.
• Monitor global markets, economic developments and industry trends.
• Review external research and investment analysis.
• Prepare investment recommendations and data for the Investment Committee.
• Contribute to the development of the family's overall investment strategy.
• Monitor investment costs, bank fees and portfolio expenses.

Key Skills

• 7+ years' professional investment experience, ideally with a stronger track record in public equities.
• Experience managing or analysing equity portfolios and making investment recommendations.
• Strong fundamental company analysis and financial modelling skills.
• Good understanding of financial statements and business models.
• Experience with Bloomberg and Refinitiv Eikon.
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• A degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• CFA Level 1-2 would be an advantage.
• Fluent in Russian and English.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• The confidence to make independent investment decisions and stand behind your judgement.
• A stable career history and evidence of building long-term relationships with employers.
• We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in a family office, private bank, asset manager, investment boutique, hedge fund or similar investment environment.
• The family office is looking for someone who is genuinely interested in a long-term investment career within a private family-office environment. While several exceptions can be considered, frequent moves between employers without a clear rationale are unlikely to be suitable.
• Some overtime will occasionally be required, depending on workload and investment activity.
• Location flexibility - ideally: The role is initially based in Paphos, Cyprus, 5 days a week. The family office plans to open its London office in 6-12 months, at which point the position will move to London and become office-based there.
• For an exceptional candidate who is unable to relocate to Cyprus immediately, the family office may consider an interim hybrid arrangement from London, with regular travel to Cyprus - typically around one week per month - particularly when the Principal is in Cyprus and for Investment Committee meetings.
