Digital Merchandising Manager

Location: Hybrid (London, Corby or Manchester)

Contract: Fixed-Term (12 Months)

RS Group is seeking a commercially driven and data-led Digital Merchandising Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As Digital Merchandising Manager, you will own and drive the global performance and growth of your categories across all digital channels, suppliers, and brands. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role requiring strong commercial judgement, confidence in decision-making, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.

You will play a pivotal role in embedding digital excellence within the wider commercial category teams, ensuring your function fully leverages tools, insights, and analytics to influence and deliver category strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and execute a clear digital merchandising strategy across your categories and suppliers, driving measurable revenue growth and digital participation in line with business targets.
  • Foster an insight-led culture, embedding continuous improvement and a strong “test and learn” approach to optimise digital metrics and customer outcomes.
  • Deliver content and merchandising solutions that improve engagement, conversion, and overall commercial performance.
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Marketing teams to ensure alignment on planning, priorities, and ways of working, using data and analytics to inform decisions.
  • Prioritise team resource effectively, focusing effort where it will deliver the greatest commercial impact.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and SEO teams to ensure content is optimised, relevant, and continually refreshed to increase traffic and engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, identifying opportunities for incremental investment and value creation.
  • Monitor competitor activity, including visit share, promotions, and CX enhancements, sharing actionable insights across digital and category teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop your team, ensuring clarity of objectives, accountability for performance, and alignment to the broader digital strategy.

About you

You are a commercially astute digital leader with extensive experience in B2B and/or B2C ecommerce environments. You combine strong technical capability with strategic thinking and the ability to influence at senior levels.

What you’ll need

  • Extensive experience in a B2B or B2C Digital Merchandising role.
  • Advanced proficiency in using tools such as Adobe Analytics, BrightEdge, and Google Trends, with the ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the digital landscape and the broader B2B and B2C environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with extensive experience in presenting data and insights.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Familiar with Digital Merchandising KPIs, levers, and systems to drive performance.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses issues and opportunities to improve UX and CX.
  • Ability to shape the digital product roadmap to ensure optimised CX.
  • High quality actions based on data and insight underpin success. Solid experience of using tools including Adobe Analytics, BrightEdge, and Google Trends, guiding the team in effective use of these tools.
  • Active and thorough understanding of digital merchandising principles and tools. Knowledge of CMS would be an advantage.
  • Confident decision maker with the ability to use sound commercial judgement, prioritise, and deal effectively with fast-changing scenarios.

  • Possesses a can‑do attitude, is a self‑starter, and can manage and prioritise workload independently.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about Ecommerce, highly relevant experience within an online B2B and/or B2C environment.
  • Engages team and commercial functions to drive a ‘digital mindset’ shift across the organisation.
  • Works closely with colleagues across Product & Supply Chain, Digital Product, and CX/UX teams, requiring a solid understanding of commercial landscapes in B2B and/or B2C environments.
  • Preferable experience working within or alongside performance marketing teams, with a solid understanding of digital marketing channels, SEO principles, and levers to drive quality customer acquisition and retention.
  • Builds strong relationships with strategic suppliers and engages directly with senior digital colleagues within these organisations.
  • Confidence, experience, and gravitas to represent the function strongly at key Commercial and Marketing forums.
  • High levels of tenacity and resilience to drive greater awareness of the external digital environment and instil a ‘digital mindset’ within teams both inside and outside the Ecommerce function.
