Owing to continued sustainable growth, our in-house Design team is looking for a Design Engineer to join us on a permanent basis. You will take on a fully supported leading role in all aspects of projects, from scoping and detailed design through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus on low-carbon solutions. RSE is in an incredibly strong position in the marketplace, and you'll be given the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the Water and Utility industries.
Some of Your Key Duties Include:
- Perform engineering checks on various structures and equipment utilizing various software including RFEM, Idea Statica, Nastran and Mathcad.
- Liaise with the client and stakeholders across the business.
- Produce preliminary and detailed designs utilizing 3D modelling techniques.
- Compile engineering calculation reports to suit project requirement.
- Conduct site visits to various client sites including Water Treatment Works, Power Stations and Industrial sites.
- Compile design specifications.
- Comply with company quality assurance procedures.
- Complete required deliverables within allocated project time scales.
What Do You Need?
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Working knowledge of design codes and standards preferably relating to structural engineering such as British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Analyses of structures for stress and deflection using both hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
- Knowledge of piping systems would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of IT packages and systems.
- The ability to work under pressure quickly and accurately with attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
