Our Chemical and Biological business platform is looking for a CNC Operator to join our Dalgety Bay fabrication workshop on a permanent basis. You will be joining an experienced team, providing solutions for water projects across Scotland. Please note this position may require flexibility on working location between our Dalgety Bay and Cumbernauld facilities.
Some of Your Key Duties Include:
- Be able to optimise tool feeds/speeds to maximise production speed and finished part surface finish.
- Identify and operate appropriate inspection equipment, machines and tooling for a given task.
- Be able to accurately measure and reproduce components from sample pieces & sketches.
- Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
- Ensure that equipment is kept in good, safe working order and all faults notified in a timely manner.
- Be able to create programme nesting to optimise raw material yield.
- Ensure safe use of hand tools, machinery and other equipment.
- Carry out all other tasks as requested within the post holder's appropriate skill set.
What Do You Need?
- Time served fully qualified CNC operator to City & Guilds, MA or equivalent.
- Experience using CAM software - desirable.
- Proven experience within a machine shop in a fabrication/engineering environment.
- Able to demonstrate accurate use of hand-held measuring equipment, including micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the sequence of events required to machine a component from start to finish.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capable of self-checking work and to possess high personal standards with respect to Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and cleanliness.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
