Apply online only) OR (Apply online only) £34,255 per annum This is a hands-on Senior Yard Operative role, supporting the day-to-day running of the yard and helping to keep things organised and moving. You’ll be loading and unloading vehicles, moving and organising stock, helping with customer collections and operating a Counterbalance forklift. You’ll also work closely with other departments within the branch to make sure deliveries, collections and stock movements run smoothly. There is no people management involved. The role is focused on the yard itself, keeping stock organised, dealing with customers and supporting the wider branch. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and comfortable working in a busy yard environment. Previous experience in a builders’ merchant or similar environment would be useful. Key Responsibilities * Support the day-to-day running of the yard. * Operate a Counterbalance forklift safely. * Load and unload HGVs and supplier deliveries. * Prepare and deal with customer collections. * Move and organise stock around the yard. * Liaise with other departments regarding deliveries, collections and stock. * Keep the yard clean, tidy and safe. * Help customers with loading and collecting materials. * Report any stock, vehicle or yard issues when required. Requirements * Previous forklift experience. * Experience working in a yard, warehouse or builders’ merchant environment. * Good communication skills. * Reliable and able to work without constant supervision. * Comfortable dealing with customers and other departments. * Able to work the agreed shifts * Able to work on a rotational weekend basis.
