We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected builders' merchant for an Assistant Branch Manager to support the successful day-to-day running of the branch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a builders' merchant, plumbing merchant, electrical wholesale or trade supply environment who enjoys leading people, driving sales and helping to build a high-performing team.

About You
You'll be a motivated and commercially minded leader who enjoys developing people as much as delivering results.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a builders' merchant, plumbing merchant, electrical wholesale or similar trade environment.
- Experience in a supervisory, team leader or assistant management position.
- A proven ability to drive sales growth while delivering outstanding customer service.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and supporting colleagues to achieve their full potential.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both trade and retail customers.
- Experience managing or supporting a sales office, purchasing and stock control function.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and make decisions.
- The ability to interpret basic financial information and work towards branch profitability.
- A resilient, positive attitude with a genuine passion for developing people and growing the business.
The Role
As theAssistant Branch Manager, you'll work closely with the Branch Manager to support every aspect of the branch operation while helping to build a successful, engaged and high-performing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the branch and leading the team in the Branch Manager's absence.
- Working alongside the Branch Manager to recruit, develop and build a motivated team capable of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting colleagues to maximise individual and branch performance.
- Assisting in delivering and exceeding branch sales and profitability targets.
