An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Driver to join a professional commercial vehicle operation based in Avonmouth.
This is a nice, straightforward and slower-paced role compared to traditional HGV driving positions, offering a good work-life balance with a Monday to Friday schedule and a varied mix of vehicle movements, collections, deliveries and yard support.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV vehicles, including solo tractor units, to collect and deliver commercial vehicles.
- Transport customer vehicles between locations.
- Present vehicles for MOTs and assist with vehicle movements.
- Carry out pre and post-trip vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Complete vehicle condition checks and report any issues.
- Carry out road tests following workshop repairs where required.
- Ensure vehicles are parked safely and in designated areas.
- Support workshop and yard operations when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Deliver a professional service when dealing with customers and colleagues.
About You
- Valid HGV licence.
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles.
- Good understanding of vehicle checks and driver responsibilities.
- Safety-focused with a professional approach.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Reliable, organised and able to manage daily tasks effectively.
- Commercial vehicle or workshop experience would be advantageous.
