Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for solving problems on the move? We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our client’s growing team, supporting customers across the UK. This is a hands-on, full-time role where no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising a wide range of material handling equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Servicing, maintaining, and overhauling forklifts and material handling equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on gas, diesel, and electric trucks
- Carrying out routine inspections (brakes, steering, lift assemblies, oil/filter changes)
- Performing preventative maintenance, including lubrication and adjustments
- Testing and maintaining batteries (fluid levels, voltage checks, hydrometers)
- Attending breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently on-site
- Working on components such as hydraulics, lift chains, braking and steering systems
- Troubleshooting electrical systems, engines, and drivetrains
- Building strong customer relationships and completing accurate service records
What We’re Looking For:
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience with forklifts or similar material handling equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Background in HGV, plant, construction, agricultural, automotive, REME, or similar industries
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Confident handling breakdowns in a field-based environment
