We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Duty Plant Fitter to join a busy recycling and aggregates operation based in Kirkby. This is a long-term, stable opportunity working on a wide range of heavy plant and wash plant equipment.

Salary & Hours:

  • £24.00 - £26.00 per hour
  • Overtime rate: £32.00 per hour
  • Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 17:00
  • Saturday: 07:00 - 12:00 (as required)
  • Additional hours available for maintenance and emergency repairs
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Company pension scheme

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy plant machinery (excavators, loading shovels, crushers, screeners, wash plant)
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
  • Monitoring and maintaining wash plant performance and output quality
  • Completing accurate service and maintenance records
  • Working closely with operators, fitters, and management teams
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with strict health & safety standards

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Previous experience with heavy plant machinery essential
  • Experience with aggregate wash plant equipment highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and records
  • Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required

Working Environment:

  • Outdoor yard and workshop-based role
  • Physically demanding work in all weather conditions
