About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our Aftermarket team. You will carry out repairs, refurbishments, and installations on a variety of refuse collection vehicles and equipment, ensuring all work is safe, compliant, and built to last.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding and re-plating on HGVs and RCVs
- Strip and rebuild vehicle components including body, hopper, and bin lifts
- Prepare vehicles to DVSA and high welding standards
- Complete work on time and to customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records and follow internal processes
- Promote good housekeeping and safe working practices
- Work safely, using PPE correctly
- Support quality standards and report any issues
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified in welding/fabrication (BSEN 287 coding desirable)
- Experienced in MIG welding and medium-heavy steel fabrication (210mm)
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Skilled in building and tack welding from drawings
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and strong communication skills
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and physically demanding environments
- Willing to learn new skills and travel when needed
- Experience in mechanical/hydraulic fitting or RCV work is a bonus
