We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Vehicle Technician to join our workshop team in Bristol, working across commercial vehicles and Geely. This is a specialist, senior-level role for a fully qualified technician who can consistently deliver work to the highest standard and act as a technical authority within the dealership.
As a Master Technician, you will be regarded as one of the foremost technical experts in the workshop, playing a key role in complex diagnostics, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out advanced diagnostics using specialist diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach to fault finding.
- Accurately identify, diagnose, and repair complex vehicle faults across a range of systems and technologies.
- Communicate with customers when required to clearly understand and explain vehicle issues.
- Stay up to date with the latest vehicle technologies and manufacturer repair methods.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Road test vehicles and quality-check all completed work to ensure first-time fix standards.
- Liaise with Service Advisors to provide clear updates on diagnostic findings and repair progress.
- Complete all required documentation including job cards, PDI forms, service reports, and warranty paperwork in line with dealership standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment.
- Support colleagues by providing technical guidance, mentoring, and sharing best practice.
- Contribute to a strong team culture focused on excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
- Qualified Diagnostic Technician / Master Technician or equivalent senior-level technician experience.
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified vehicle technician (significantly more experience preferred for this senior role).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability on modern vehicles and systems.
- Experience in customer-facing technical discussions.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and support other technicians in the workshop.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Commitment to high standards of workmanship and integrity.
- Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
