We are recruiting for an experienced Sales Manager to lead a successful Commercial Vehicle sales operation in Bristol. This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven automotive sales leader looking to take the next step in their career with a well-established dealership.

Managing a team of 1 Transaction Manager and 6 Sales Executives, you will be responsible for driving performance across new and used commercial vehicle sales, ensuring targets are achieved while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The Role

  • Lead from the front, motivating and developing your team to maximise sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the sales department, managing stock, forecasting performance, and ensuring compliance with all industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Drive vehicle sales, profitability, and departmental performance.
  • Achieve volume, revenue, and profit targets.
  • Manage new and used vehicle stock effectively.
  • Appraise, source, and manage used vehicle inventory.
  • Monitor KPIs and produce accurate sales forecasts and reports.
  • Support and develop Sales Executives and the Transaction Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and consumer legislation.
  • Deliver outstanding customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Implement sales and marketing initiatives to maximise opportunities.
  • Promote a positive culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

About You:

  • Previous Sales Manager experience within the motor trade is essential.
  • Commercial Vehicle, Van, Fleet, or Automotive Retail experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering sales and profit targets.
  • Experience managing both new and used vehicle sales operations.
  • Strong understanding of FCA and consumer credit regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and coaching abilities.
  • Results-driven with a hands-on management style.
