We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Duty Plant Fitter to join a busy recycling and aggregates operation based in Kirkby. This is a long-term, stable opportunity working on a wide range of heavy plant and wash plant equipment.
Salary & Hours:
- £24.00 - £26.00 per hour
- Overtime rate: £32.00 per hour
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 17:00
- Saturday: 07:00 - 12:00 (as required)
- Additional hours available for maintenance and emergency repairs
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- Company pension scheme
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy plant machinery (excavators, loading shovels, crushers, screeners, wash plant)
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
- Monitoring and maintaining wash plant performance and output quality
- Completing accurate service and maintenance records
- Working closely with operators, fitters, and management teams
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with strict health & safety standards
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Previous experience with heavy plant machinery essential
- Experience with aggregate wash plant equipment highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
- Basic computer literacy for reporting and records
- Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required
Working Environment:
- Outdoor yard and workshop-based role
- Physically demanding work in all weather conditions
