We are recruiting for an experienced Sales Manager to lead a successful Commercial Vehicle sales operation in Bristol. This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven automotive sales leader looking to take the next step in their career with a well-established dealership.
Managing a team of 1 Transaction Manager and 6 Sales Executives, you will be responsible for driving performance across new and used commercial vehicle sales, ensuring targets are achieved while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you will lead from the front, motivating and developing your team to maximise sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the sales department, managing stock, forecasting performance, and ensuring compliance with all industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Drive vehicle sales, profitability, and departmental performance
- Achieve volume, revenue, and profit targets
- Manage new and used vehicle stock effectively
- Appraise, source, and manage used vehicle inventory
- Monitor KPIs and produce accurate sales forecasts and reports
- Support and develop Sales Executives and the Transaction Manager
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and consumer legislation
- Deliver outstanding customer satisfaction and retention
- Implement sales and marketing initiatives to maximise opportunities
- Promote a positive culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
About You:
- Previous Sales Manager experience within the motor trade is essential
- Commercial Vehicle, Van, Fleet, or Automotive Retail experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Proven track record of delivering sales and profit targets
- Experience managing both new and used vehicle sales operations
- Strong understanding of FCA and consumer credit regulations
- Excellent communication, organisational, and coaching abilities
- Results-driven with a hands-on management style
