We are currently recruiting for an Underwriting Service Leader to join our established and experienced Underwriting team here at RSA on a hybrid basis.
Your Role
The purpose of your role is to provide support to the Regional Manager with the service delivery, operational performance, capability and governance for a team of underwriters to deliver the P&L results. You will lead a team of Underwriters tasked with underwriting profitable new and/or renewal business in line with the portfolio strategy and performance targets and take responsibility for ensuring the team adhere to internal & external compliance standards.
You will be involved in developing and implementing operational plans, business development activities, monitoring and reporting business performance, managing stakeholder relationships and guiding and developing the team. You will support the RM to develop the business plans using various tools to enhance the performance of the P&L to deliver a great service to the market.
You will focus on developing capability of the team, monitoring performance to deliver excellent service by managing resource requirements and provide coaching and mentoring to your direct reports.

To be successful in your role you will need to have experience as a people leader, with excellent analytical and numerical skills. Experience within insurance will be highly beneficial but we can also consider candidates from other financial services organisations. You will be highly supportive, engaging and motivational and be able to lead indirectly, virtually and via others. You will have skills such as resilience, inclusion, tenacity and balance.
You will have a positive approach and have a solutions-oriented mindset.
