We are currently recruiting for a Risk Control Surveyor to join our established and experienced Risk Consulting team here at RSA on a hybrid basis. The successful person will be covering either the North West of England or East/West Midland. This role is home-based, and successful candidates would be required to travel to customer sites across their region as part of their role, and a car will be provided.
Your Role
Your role will involve the delivery of a range of client and prospect survey reports and reviews. You will provide advice, guidance, and coaching to colleagues to develop knowledge and understanding of customers, their businesses, and associated commercial drivers and risks. You will organise, manage, and deliver efficient and effective risk management and loss prevention services to support the winning and retention of profitable insurance business. Your time will be spent undertaking field surveys, completing desktop reviews, and advising customers and underwriters regarding risk control best practices.
About You
To be successful in your role, you will have experience in identifying hazards and assessing controls relating to the protection of assets. This will help to eliminate or minimise the company's exposure to these risks by identifying appropriate risk improvement measures. You should be able to demonstrate risk perception and understand common occupancy features such as property protection, building construction, utilities, process hazards, and protection systems. Ideally, you will have experience of working within a risk management field either in industry or financial services, with evidence of specific training or qualifications in risk control. Knowledge of sprinkler systems and fire protection systems is desirable but not essential. Training, leading to a recognised external qualification, will be provided.
