Third Party Property Damage Claims Handler

As a Third-Party Property Damage Claims Handler at Intact Insurance, you will be responsible for appropriately and promptly investigating and advancing third‑party property damage claims to closure, to achieve business objectives and meet our defined customer service proposition.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Handling and resolving technical cases and referrals and/or complaints within your authority limit/ licence level.
  • Investigating and negotiating settlement of claims promptly and cost‑effectively within your agreed claims licence level.
  • Following agreed processes, policies and procedures to ensure quality and service standards are met and leakage is minimised.
  • Identifying non‑standard or complex claims and escalating to more qualified colleagues to ensure they are handled appropriately.
  • Involvement in cases greater than license level under a cascaded licence.
  • Managing the customer and all suppliers to ensure indemnity control is maintained whilst enhancing the Intact Brand.
  • Engaging with customers in an efficient, courteous and timely manner to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Helping and contributing towards the development of less experienced colleagues to raise standards and expertise across the team.
  • Engaging with internal and/or external customers to build relationships, ensure mutual understanding of requirements, developments and practical constraints and the prompt resolution of issues arising.

Your skills and experience:

  • In‑depth experience in Third‑Party Property Damage claims.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, building relationships across all stakeholders.
  • Good judgment and an effective approach to problem‑solving, while communicating clearly and professionally with both customers and colleagues.
  • Results‑driven and consistently strive to exceed expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adaptability, with the ability to drive change and contribute to continuous improvement within the business.
