We are currently recruiting for a Multinational Technical Underwriter to join our Global Network Specialty Lines Underwriting team on a hybrid basis. The role can be based in any of the following offices: Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London or Chelmsford.
Your role serves as a technical authority within Intact's Global Network. You will leverage your experience in multinational underwriting and programme design to ensure accuracy, compliance and risk control. By applying technical knowledge, your role safeguards underwriting and claims integrity across international placements.
You’ll make an impact by:
- As a property underwriter and multinational specialist, you will be a major point of contact for users of the Global Network.
- You will assess and agree exposures that pass through the Global Network in line with your authority.
- You will need to build relationships with partners producing into, and partners servicing, the network.
- Your role will protect all parties in the chain of multinational programme and fronting business.
- You will manage the overall exposure to the Global Network of property lines of business, including accumulation, exposure profiling and management.
- You will need to build relationships with senior internal parties managing the group’s reinsurance and counterparty risks.
- You will train internal and external users on how to construct multinational programmes, issue pure fronting business, create compliant premium allocations, adhere to tax liabilities and help advise on compliant admitted and non-admitted reinsurance and insurance.
Your skills and experience:
- Experience of designing, implementing and/or managing multinational insurance programmes, ideally with exposure to property programmes, in either an underwriting, claims, or operations function – multiclass experience beneficial but not essential.
- Experience of operating in a highly regulated environment, with a working knowledge of the governance/compliance frameworks in operation within INTACT or similar insurance company.
- A clear communicator, able to present information clearly, unambiguously and in a readily comprehensible and appropriate format for the audience and business purpose.
- Ability to build and develop relationships across all levels of the business including at an executive level.
