Win as a team We are currently recruiting for a Development Underwriter to join our existing team to support key brokers in the South West of England region.
The brokers will be based anywhere between Birmingham, Southampton, Exeter, Bristol and South Wales so you will need to be located somewhere within this geographical area.
The purpose of this role is to manage a portfolio of broker relationships through effective business development strategies and collaboration with key stakeholders to achieve growth and profit.
You’ll make an impact by: Managing the sourcing process for growth within existing partners, new distribution channels, presenting to new clients, securing invitations to tender and negotiating profitable solutions Building and implementing sales strategies for broker panel to deliver sales plans.
Alongside this you will take responsibility for monthly monitoring as well as developing and implementing action plans to ensure delivery of financials.
Providing leadership and direction for the underwriting team to encourage better / smarter working and support the development strategies for broker panel.
Maintaining and developing a good understanding of relevant product market, sector, geographic location, distribution segmentation and communicate market developments to appropriate internal stakeholders, supporting business opportunities throughout Intact Insurance.
Your skills and experience: Experience in underwriting in Brokers offices negotiating new business and renewals.
Preferably Property & Casualty but we can also consider Motor.
Account Management experience Ability to discuss account performance with broker partners Experience in the agricultural sector is preferred but not necessary.
