RS Group is seeking a skilled and driven Solution Architect with a focus on Networks and Security to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of complex solutions across a variety of initiatives, ranging from smaller-scale projects to multimillion-pound programmes.
While the initial focus will involve supporting a senior Solution Architect on a large-scale initiative, you will also be given ownership of smaller assignments, allowing for meaningful growth and hands-on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Contribute to the architecture and design of major projects, aligned with enterprise architecture guidance.
- Collaborate on and participate in architectural governance to ensure consistency across target and transition states.
- Facilitate and document key design decisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Present architectural decisions and implications to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.
- Engage in cross-functional Design Working Groups to agree on and communicate key architectural elements.
- Ensure adherence to architectural governance processes across projects and initiatives.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior members of the Solution Architecture team.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party partners to analyse existing network structures and recommend improvements.
- Design and implement scalable and efficient network solutions, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDWAN, and telecoms infrastructure.
- Define policies and controls for firewalls and security systems to ensure data protection and compliance.
- Support the deployment of new network solutions in collaboration with IT teams.
- Conduct testing and validation of changes to network software and hardware.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network architecture, configurations, and emergency procedures.
- Regularly review and upgrade network infrastructure to align with organisational goals.
- Work closely with stakeholders to anticipate future network needs and propose strategic solutions.

- Remote access solutions (Ivanti, Pulse Secure, Cisco AnyConnect)
