The Opportunity:
- Identification of project opportunities, preparation of Investment proposals, and management of capital projects typically up to £1 million with varied timescales which support the development of facilities within the group relating to both office and warehouse environments.
This role requires previous experience in the project management of construction, maintenance or facilities projects.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Identification of opportunities, development of proposals, and implementation of solutions that deliver tangible improvements to office facility and logistics problems.
- Management of contractors and suppliers including allocation of work, preparation of required specifications and ensuring the contractor delivers to the agreed specification.
- Preparation and management of project plans to time, cost and quality targets.
- Preparation of Investment Proposals for the development of facilities in accordance with Group Strategy.
- Ensure all projects adhere to CDM, Health & safety guidelines, policies, and requirements within the business.
- Direction and co-ordination of project members as required by the project.
- Ensure adherence to Group Policies and local legislative requirements by contractors and Suppliers.
- Participating in the coaching, training, mentoring and sharing of experience and best practice to other Engineers within the department.
- Optimisation of warehouse and office capability throughout Group operating companies via specific projects or by supporting local Management.
- Interpretation of business forecasts and analysis of current and future warehouse and office demands in order to develop capacity plans for warehouses and offices.
- Recommending, sharing and implementing group and industry best practice regarding warehouse and office design and the optimisation of group facilities.
Scope of Role:
- The role has a global responsibility although much of the work will be in the UK.
- Prioritisation, quality and financial decisions within projects being managed.
- Project communication at all levels.
- Technical decisions regarding equipment and process improvement.
- Health and safety management for projects being managed.
- Responsible for making a number of cost/benefit decisions – leading to investment requirements, project implementation, investment delay or prevention.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience of using CAD.
- Project Management or Engineering qualification to an equivalent Level 3 (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (OFQUAL)).
- Facilities Management experience and/or qualification.
