What you’ll be doing
Strategic Communications & Storytelling
- Understand the Group strategy and strategic priorities and help to share the organisation’s story, so our GSBS people understand how their role within the GSBS function, helps to contribute and drive the overall business.
- Ensure a consistent thread of storytelling between the group strategy, the Corporate Services purpose and delivery and our GSBS strategy, to create a sense of belonging to both the GSBS and Enabling Corporate Services function.
- Consistently seek to bring our GSBS story to life with storytelling, aligned to our four company values, celebrating GSBS and our people, and the contribution they bring to the business.
- Embed and champion the GSBS strategy through compelling, consistent, and accessible messaging across all channels and formats.
- Act as brand guardian for tone, voice and messaging aligned to our Group and localised GSBS standards.
Internal Communications
- Develop an overall GSBS comms strategy and comms plan, to set a clear direction of travel and ensuring these plans and activities strike the right balance between high-level vision and actionable detail. You’ll bring the right people along at the right time, aligning stakeholders while proactively anticipating needs, risks, and opportunities.
- Work closely alongside our Group communications to ensure our GSBS communications plans and activities align with the timing, flow, tone and cadence of Group-wide communications and engagement activities.
- Lead internal communications planning and execution across newsletters, town halls, leadership updates, internal social platforms (e.g., Viva Engage), and intranet.
- Understand our diverse, global audience and where necessary make recommendations for improved content delivery and engagement, creating high-impact content that informs, inspires, and aligns our global colleagues around our shared goals.
- Manage and lead on translation and localisation of key communications across GSBS, to ensure clarity and resonance across our diverse audience.
- Measure and report on engagement and channel effectiveness using analytics and feedback loops, adjusting content strategy as needed.
Customer & External-Facing Communications
- Strengthen communication with our direct customers through regular updates, SharePoint content, service communications and process changes.
Group-Level Engagement
- Work alongside Group Communications Team to identify and collaborate, agree timings etc on proposed news stories for possible inclusion in our Group channels, e.g. Our World, Group Intranet News etc.
- Draft local GSBS success stories and initiatives for Group-wide visibility as above.
- Act as a GSBS ambassador into Group comms networks, contributing content and aligning messaging with Group campaigns.
Project & Ad-Hoc Communications
- Support communication workstreams for key GSBS projects and change initiatives, including transformation, system rollouts, and operating model changes.
- Work closely alongside our Group communications to ensure people change projects within GSBS are planned and developed through a Communications Change Playbook and align with the timing, flow, tone and cadence of any other Group-wide communications and engagement activities.
- Draft, edit, and coordinate sign-off for project comms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and sensitivity to complex stakeholder environments.
Visual Content & Channels
- Develop and support visual, executive-ready content (e.g., QBR one-pagers, dashboards, infographics, explainer decks).
- Leverage modern tools and technology to make communications more visual, interactive, and accessible.
Stakeholder & Channel Management
- Maintain and manage segmented stakeholder contact groups for tailored messaging and targeted campaigns.
- Proactively drive content from senior stakeholders, encouraging consistency, visibility, and transparency.
- Navigate complex review and sign-off processes with confidence and persistence, while maintaining pace and momentum.
Leadership Support & Strategic Counsel
- Provide communication advice and support to senior leaders, including scripting, presentation messaging, and leadership cascade materials.
- Act as a trusted advisor, challenging and coaching leaders to communicate more effectively and authentically.
Skills & experience we will be looking for
- Proven experience in internal and/or change communications, preferably in a Shared Services, Transformation or Operations context.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Confidence and credibility working with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in developing communications strategies and managing multi-channel communication plans and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Viva Engage, newsletters).
- Skilled in visual storytelling and digital content creation (Poppulo, Monday.com, PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe, or similar tools).
- Ability to translate complex topics into simple, engaging messages for diverse, global audience.
- Passion for brand, clarity of voice, and developing and driving communications that take people on a journey, to inform engage, and inspire them to be advocates of the business.
- Proactive communicator who instinctively takes the lead and sees challenges as opportunities, thriving on finding solutions independently.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and comfortable working under pressure, taking ownership and the ability to prioritise, manage expectations and bring organisation.
