About the role
RS Recovery are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 driver to join our team based from our Tipton depot. Applicants will be given full training.
We specialise in commercial vehicle recovery and provide an exceptional service with custom-built recovery vehicles to commercial dealerships, established bus and coach companies, heavy haulage and more. We don\’t just do heavy recovery, we have the equipment and expertise to carry out all kinds of other vehicle recovery, including cars, motorbikes, caravans and motorhomes.
Your role will include but won’t be limited to the following:
- Attend recoveries for a variety of customers in a safe and timely manner, recoveries may be local or national for vehicles that cannot be repaired at roadside
- Self-manage jobs via PDA from allocation through to completion
- Carry out daily checks and maintain trucks to a high standard
- Support West Midlands Police and Highways England contracts
- Accurately document job details and maintain appropriate records in accordance with company procedures
What you need to succeed
This is a varied role in a fast paced industry, therefore the following skills and attributes are required:
- Previous recovery experience desired but not essential, training can be provided for the right candidate
- A full valid driving license
- Minimum Category C driving license and valid DCPC
- ADR and IVR preferred but not essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise directly with customers and control
- Basic mechanical knowledge, further training can be provided for the right candidate
- Good geographical knowledge
- A flexible approach to meet the needs of the business
- The ability to work alone and use initiative to solve problems in high-pressure situations
- Vetting Approval required to support West Midlands Police operations where applicable
- Capable of working in all weather conditions
