We are currently seeking a Calibration Technician to join our wider calibration team onsite at our Corby facility. You will perform time critical calibration to customers' requirements on instrumentation purchased new from our RS catalogue and on both RS supplied and Non‑RS supplied instrumentation returned by the customer for recalibration in compliance with the Company's UKAS and BSI approvals.

What you will be doing:

  • Calibrate test & measurement instruments to exact requirements set out by ISO17025 & UKAS.
  • Ensure a required level of productivity to meet service levels to our customers, enabling items to be despatched within the department's published turnaround times.
  • Support the department within pre‑calibration tests, administration tasks and material handling when necessary.
  • Interpret product specifications to prove manufacturers' claims and produce calibration certificates.
  • Communicate with customers and colleagues, identifying any failed calibration and its cause.
  • Work collaboratively as a team to achieve set departmental objectives.

Requirements:

  • A passion for science and/or engineering, with a technical background.
  • Customer focused and a great collaborative worker.
  • Ability to prioritise assigned tasks effectively.
  • Evidence of working effectively with others.
  • Degree/City & Guilds/ONC/BTEC in a relevant STEM field (or equivalent experience).
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Experience in a calibration environment would be an advantage.
