We are looking to recruit a Programme Management Office for the Process & Operational Excellence Portfolio. The PMO for P&OE will support the delivery of both organic projects across all regional and functional teams. This role is critical to the successful delivery of our ambition of becoming first choice. The role requires a passionate and driven PMO professional who can influence, drive and embed change across the region and the wider organisation.

Key objectives include:

  • Establishing and embedding the PMO capability for the P&OE Portfolio.
  • Driving delivery of the P&OE organic projects portfolio.
  • Creating and monitoring the P&OE organic plan, including resource capacity management and dependency management for successful delivery.
  • Using data and analysis to proactively identify and resolve issues, removing barriers to execution and allowing for efficient decision making.
  • Managing the assurance activities to minimise the impact of issues and ensuring changes adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Establish and lead the PMO for the P&OE Portfolio.
  • Support the launch and embedding of the Transformation implementation.
  • Manage the portfolio roadmap.
  • Develop the P&OE Organic investment plan, ensuring it is outcome‑led and drives clear accountabilities and targets across all teams.
  • Build core delivery processes and key controls, supporting ongoing development of delivery lifecycles.
  • Implement, maintain and evolve key documentation, including investment plans, resource plans, dependency maps, control documents (RAIDs) and stakeholder maps/engagement plans.
  • Track delivery and critical success factors and troubleshoot issues such as dependencies and resource constraints.
  • Lead relationships and interfaces with the Strategy Delivery & Execution Function, fostering a business‑partner network across work‑streams to ensure consistency of approach, tools and reporting.
  • Own management information and performance reporting across the P&OE Portfolio, reporting to ExCo, Steering Committees and the broader stakeholder community.
  • Create insightful metrics and monitor P&OE Portfolio KPIs and their levers.
  • Use data and analytics to drive delivery, identify issues, propose fixes, accelerate decision making and continually improve ways of working.
  • Ensure provision of accurate data from different sources.
  • Work with the P&OE Portfolio Delivery team to establish and improve governance and complete required reporting.
  • Establish and manage the portfolio assurance process to enable control and effective risk and issue management, supporting delivery excellence in scope, time, quality and cost.
  • Conduct quality reviews of change initiatives and advise on areas of concern and improvement opportunities.
  • Influence and negotiate across Group‑wide stakeholders, including ExCo, Steering Committees, Programmes and Projects.
  • Act as ambassador and champion for the P&OE Delivery Unit across stakeholders and functions.
  • Support production of communications.
  • Maintain a business‑partner network between different areas of the business critical to the successful delivery of the P&OE Organic plan.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Project/Programme Management Office, delivering large‑scale complex changes across multiple geographies.
  • Extensive knowledge of good‑practice project, programme and portfolio management methodologies and approaches such as waterfall and Agile.
  • Experience developing project and programme management standards, processes and guidelines, and continually updating them to meet organisational needs.
  • Experience setting up a PMO from ground zero, including resource capacity management, dependency management and assurance.
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, build credibility and act with integrity at all levels within the organisation.
  • Confidence with data analysis and insight.
  • Track record of continuous improvement, identifying and delivering improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel.
