RS Group is seeking an Integration Engineering Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a technology leadership role requiring significant experience managing engineering teams and delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide integration platforms. You will have a proven track record of leading complex technology delivery, including multi-million-pound platforms and strategic transformation programmes. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Enterprise Integration, with hands-on understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. You will have led technical teams through end-to-end delivery, including design, build, deployment, and ongoing support of integration solutions. A strong understanding of environments, release management, and operational support within an enterprise integration landscape is essential. Experience with technologies such as MuleSoft, SAP Integration Suite, and Informatica is preferred, alongside exposure to platforms such as Boomi, TIBCO, Workato, Kong, or Kafka.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the delivery of change across strategic initiatives, Small Change, KTLO (Keep the Lights On), and large-scale technology programmes, with accountability for scope, time, budget, and quality.
- Line managing a team of engineers, developers, and architects responsible for delivery.
- Acting as the primary escalation point for the team, removing blockers, supporting prioritisation, and providing technical and delivery guidance.
- Cascading objectives and tracking performance against agreed goals throughout the year.
- Owning solution design and architecture oversight for both SAP and non-SAP integrations.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for integration design, build, and deployment across the organisation.
- Partnering with Technology Teams, Solution Architects, and Process Leads to deliver interfaces aligned to business requirements and best practice.
- Reviewing and approving technical integration solutions and associated changes.
- Leading proof of concepts (POCs) to assess the value of middleware tools and technologies.
- Ensuring systems are scalable, optimised, and meet SLA and performance requirements.
- Overseeing integration application uptime, monitoring, and support operations.
- Managing and maintaining the technical debt backlog across integration platforms to ensure a healthy, maintainable landscape.
- Ensuring adherence to development standards, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Supporting the successful delivery of integrations across ERP and eCommerce platforms in line with security and performance standards.
- Engaging with global stakeholders to identify and implement best practices.
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior and mid-level engineers.
About You
You are a hands-on technical leader with strong experience in enterprise integration and a proven ability to lead engineering teams in complex environments. You combine deep technical understanding with strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
What You’ll Need

- Significant experience managing technical teams and leading delivery in complex environments.
- Experience recruiting and building technical teams, including senior-level hires.
- Experience defining and delivering integration strategy and architecture.
- Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as IBM, SAP CPI, MuleSoft, and Informatica.
- Experience building integrations across systems such as Salesforce, Ariba, Workday, SuccessFactors, eCommerce platforms, and SAP.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging frameworks, and integration observability.
- Knowledge of key connectivity protocols and adapters (REST/SOAP, RFC, SFTP, file-based integration, JMS, B2B, etc.).
- Experience delivering end-to-end project lifecycle management (from definition through to deployment and support).
- Familiarity with EDI X.12 and mapping experience is advantageous.
- Experience managing both onsite and offshore/remote teams.
