The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and technical Transfer Pricing specialist reporting to the Group Head of Transfer Pricing. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role to provide support due to the current number of activities and ongoing projects. The Assistant Group Head of Transfer Pricing will support the Group Head of Transfer Pricing overseeing and being responsible for the groups transfer pricing policies and compliance requirements including transfer pricing documentation and audit support. This role will also support the VP Group Tax with M&A, integrations, dissolutions and other ad-hoc advice to the business. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience of Transfer Pricing in a multinational environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Strategy and policy
    • Leading the design and implementation of the Group’s transfer pricing policies for all operating businesses
    • Monitor OECD and local country developments for new compliance requirements
    • Identify, develop and implement value chain structures which enable delivery of the Group’s strategic objectives
    • Provide transfer pricing technical support on other commercial projects and initiatives
  • Compliance
    • Accountable for management of Group transfer pricing policies ensuring the policy is kept up to date and meets regulatory requirements
    • Responsible for all transfer pricing modelling, calculation processes & tools
    • Preparation and review of global transfer pricing calculations for statutory reporting
    • Working with UK and overseas teams to ensure transfer pricing invoices are issued correctly
    • Advising on intercompany services agreements
    • Managing Group documentation & benchmarking studies
    • Support Finance Managers on matters relating to local transfer pricing
    • Responsible for preparation of Country-by-Country Reporting
    • Support tax authority audits relating to transfer pricing matters
    • Identify, adopt and implement technology tools to enable efficient and effective transfer pricing processes
  • Advisory
    • Advise the group of regulatory or legislative tax changes which will affect the business
    • Provide expert guidance and support to the business on the practical application of legislation, advising on the most efficient options
    • Active business partnering with commercial operations leaders, Finance teams, HR teams and other business stakeholders about a wide variety of transfer pricing queries
    • Adopt a risk-based, but commercial approach to advice on the transfer pricing implications of intercompany transactions, supply chain issues and M&A projects.
    • Identify opportunities which will optimise efficiencies, and support the VP Group Tax on planning and other projects relating to the delivery of the Group’s tax strategy
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
    • Act as a transfer pricing advisor to senior finance leaders, legal and Treasury teams, and commercial stakeholders
    • Prepare and present technical transfer pricing analysis and recommendations to leadership
    • Collaborate closely with external tax advisors and wider peer network on specialist matters and ensure alignment with global tax strategy and best practices
    • Maintain strong governance, contributing to internal controls and process documentation
    • Support team with regulatory changes and projects as and when required
  • Team Work
    • Collaboratively work with other Group Tax teams (Compliance & Reporting, Indirect Tax, Employment Tax) to ensure issues are fully understood to include transfer pricing
    • Develop one junior team member of the Transfer Pricing Team
    • Help develop members of the wider Group Tax team

What You’ll Bring

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
  • UK & International Tax and Transfer Pricing from practice, or working in an industry role
  • A strong technical understanding of transfer pricing principles, regulations, and their practical application
  • Experience in TP technology a plus
  • Able to build strong business relationships
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Flexible working style with the ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated team player, with willingness to be hands on
