We have an exciting opportunity here at RS Group for an experienced PPE Bid Manager. This is a new role that will support our Safety Solutions business who are experiencing a period of growth currently. RS Safety Solutions, part of RS Group, is the UK’s leading supplier of PPE, safety, and hygiene products to the food manufacturing industry. With customers of all sizes in almost every food sector, our success is based on exceptional customer service, a tailored supply chain and an extensive, well-priced product list.
What you will be doing:
As a bid manager, you will consult and lead our commercial sales teams through a tendering process, ensuring that we bid for the contracts we can win and that are qualified, in a bespoke, compelling, and commercially articulate manner. You will work closely with the other team members and the wider business functions, building a solid internal network, ensuring compliance with customer and RS requirements while highlighting the company value proposition, addressing customer issues and pain points, and meeting tender response deadlines.

- Ability to influence at all levels within our and the customer’s organisation
- Demonstrable commercial reasoning skills
- Desire and drive to work in an ever-evolving, fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated with probing tenacity to achieve and exceed objectives
- Exceptional negotiation, persuasion and judgment skills
- Ability to flex and adapt tactics in response to changes to internal business priorities and market dynamics
- Numerate and literate with a strong ability to analyse, diagnose and implement business improvement plans
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable Planning, Time Management and Prioritisation skills
- IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience and understanding of how to extract maximum value from an MRO/PPE contract and to deliver maximum value to the customer, and ability to apply that knowledge to transition to a solutions-led model
- Experience and understanding of the end-to-end Corporate Sales Process/Bid and Tenders process
