Role Description
This is a full-time, Heating and Plumbing Engineer role based in Pontypridd, The Heating and Plumbing Engineer will install, maintain, and repair heating systems, including heat pumps, energy-efficient boilers, and associated controls for residential and commercial clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing faults, conducting system inspections and testing, performing routine servicing, and ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations and safety standards. The role also involves carrying out plumbing installation and repair work, including pipework, water supply systems, and fixtures, as well as collaborating with project managers and other engineers on building services projects. The engineer will complete accurate job reports, maintain tools and equipment, and provide clear, professional communication with customers on-site.
Qualifications
- Strong plumbing skills, including installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
- Experience with plumbing design and layout to support efficient and compliant system installations.
- Knowledge of water supply systems, including pressure management, distribution, and basic water regulations.
- Familiarity with Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) coordination within building projects.
- Understanding of building services, particularly heating, hot water, and renewable energy systems.
- Relevant trade qualifications or in plumbing and/or heating engineering (e.g., NVQ or equivalent).
- Experience working with low-carbon or renewable heating technologies (e.g., heat pumps, solar thermal) is highly desirable.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a safety-first approach.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with clear and respectful communication with clients and colleagues.
