Our client is seeking an experienced Strategic Asset Manager with a strong background in local authority property management and oversight of a diverse property portfolio.
Essential Criteria
- RICS membership – either MRICS or FRICS.
- Background as a General Practice Surveyor or Property Management Surveyor.
- Proven experience in landlord and tenant matters.
- Demonstrated experience across a wide range of property transaction types.
Job Summary
Lead on the day-to-day and strategic management of a designated element of the Council’s property portfolio.
Role Requirements
- Maximise the financial and operational performance of the allocated portfolio element, in line with the Council’s Corporate Objectives and Asset Management Strategy.
- Lead on providing Asset Management input for major projects.
- Formulate disposal and letting strategies.
- Identify opportunities to generate income or achieve capital receipts.
- Act as the principal liaison between service teams and Property teams.
- Define asset requirements, carry out property reviews, and undertake option appraisals.
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term strategies for the asset portfolio.
- Support the Senior Strategic Asset Manager and Head of Asset Management with strategic projects and the disposal programme.
- Commission valuations of sites and buildings from specialist valuers as required.
- Procure and manage external consultants, preparing briefs and requirement documents as appropriate.
