We are recruiting for a Head of Communications and Channels to lead the development and delivery of communications, content and channel strategies across a large public sector organisation. This senior leadership role will oversee multi-channel communications, media relations, digital engagement and internal communications, ensuring audiences receive clear, engaging and effective messaging that supports organisational priorities and strengthens reputation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of communications and channel strategies across digital, print, internal and external platforms.
- Oversee content planning, publication and audience engagement activities across all communication channels.
- Drive innovative storytelling, content creation and audience-focused communications that build trust and engagement.
- Provide strategic communications advice to senior leadership, elected members and key stakeholders.
- Lead media relations activity, balancing reactive communications with proactive reputation-building opportunities.
- Oversee social media strategy, governance and performance across multiple platforms and audience groups.
- Support organisational crisis communications and ensure effective stakeholder engagement during high-profile issues.
- Develop communications frameworks, standards and governance processes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage communications budgets and ensure resources are deployed effectively to deliver value for money.
- Lead, develop and motivate a multidisciplinary communications team, setting clear objectives and performance expectations.
