I’m currently recruiting for an Adaptations Surveyor to join a North London Local Authority’s Adult Social Care Surveying Team on an initial 52-week contract.

This is a great opportunity for a surveyor with strong experience delivering disabled adaptations, particularly major adaptations, who can confidently take projects from initial assessment and design through to completion.

Role: Adaptations Surveyor

Rate: £42.11 per hour

Contract: 52 weeks

Hours: 36 per week

Location: North London

Team: Adult Social Care – Surveying Team

Reports to: Surveying Team Manager

Role:

  • Deliver disabled adaptations, including both major and minor works.
  • Assess properties for condition, suitability and feasibility of adaptations.
  • Manage projects from design through to completion, including programmes, budgets and quality.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of works and AutoCAD drawings.
  • Complete pre- and post-inspections and identify/diagnose building defects.
  • Prepare documentation for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).
  • Work closely with Occupational Therapists, residents, contractors, Housing, Planning and Building Control.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, H&S, CDM and other legislation.
  • Monitor contractor performance and KPIs.

Essential requirements:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Surveying/related discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Experience delivering disabled adaptations projects.
  • Knowledge of DFG legislation/procedures.
  • Experience planning and managing building works.
  • Good knowledge of Building Regulations, asbestos awareness and H&S.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Ability to manage workload, deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with residents and other professionals.

Key client requirements: Previous experience working with OTs, AutoCAD, and major adaptations.
