I’m currently recruiting for an Adaptations Surveyor to join a North London Local Authority’s Adult Social Care Surveying Team on an initial 52-week contract.
This is a great opportunity for a surveyor with strong experience delivering disabled adaptations, particularly major adaptations, who can confidently take projects from initial assessment and design through to completion.

Rate: £42.11 per hour
Contract: 52 weeks
Hours: 36 per week
Location: North London
Team: Adult Social Care – Surveying Team
Reports to: Surveying Team Manager
Role:
- Deliver disabled adaptations, including both major and minor works.
- Assess properties for condition, suitability and feasibility of adaptations.
- Manage projects from design through to completion, including programmes, budgets and quality.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of works and AutoCAD drawings.
- Complete pre- and post-inspections and identify/diagnose building defects.
- Prepare documentation for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).
- Work closely with Occupational Therapists, residents, contractors, Housing, Planning and Building Control.
- Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, H&S, CDM and other legislation.
- Monitor contractor performance and KPIs.
Essential requirements:
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Surveying/related discipline, or relevant experience.
- Experience delivering disabled adaptations projects.
- Knowledge of DFG legislation/procedures.
- Experience planning and managing building works.
- Good knowledge of Building Regulations, asbestos awareness and H&S.
- AutoCAD proficiency.
- Ability to manage workload, deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Strong communication skills with residents and other professionals.
Key client requirements: Previous experience working with OTs, AutoCAD, and major adaptations.
